Digital development increases the possibilities of companies to optimize processes, save time, minimize errors and thus work more efficiently. Alpen-Maykestag GmbH in Puch / Salzburg has decided to optimize its processes by connecting the SSI high-bay warehouse and the WAMAS® logistics software to its ERP system. In warehouse goods handling, the aim is to make optimum use of warehouse space, to increase both throughput in order picking and picking quality, and thus to reduce the error rate: and all this with the greatest possible automation.
As a multi-year partner, Ambit Group is well aware of the challenges of warehousing in detail. With the individual development of a bidirectional interface between the ERP system currently in use and WAMAS®, as well as attention to the issue of migration security with regard to new technologies such as Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and Finance, it was possible to carry out real-time data reconciliation for goods receipt, stock transfer, inventory reconciliation, production consumption, production completion notification and order picking. In short, an optimization of the processes in the entire goods handling and logistics.
Alpen-Maykestag GmbH now works successfully and efficiently with fully automated flows of goods from receipt of goods to delivery from a parcel service provider / logistics partner. Customers enjoy short order times (order to delivery) thanks to short throughput times. In addition, the error rate during picking has been greatly minimized, and thus also customer complaints.
