Human Resource Management with Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Part 1

The work environment is becoming increasingly digital. New technologies, agile forms of work and mobile workplaces are influencing how we work in the future.

Human resource management is not only challenged to build an agile organisation and provide state-of-the-art workplaces, but also to help shape the individual employee's entire career. The use of modern software solutions is indispensable for managing these tasks.

In addition to the solutions in the area of "modern workplace", Microsoft offers comprehensive functions for all areas of personnel management within the framework of the Dynamics 365 product family. Individual solution partners supplement this functionality for specific areas of application.

The first 4 main functions are briefly presented below.

Employee Self-Service

The self-service portal allows employees and managers to easily and quickly access all relevant information (working hours, meetings, qualifications, etc.), information on the assigned team (key performance indicators, target agreements, reviews) and on the company (employees, vacancies, regulations).


Organisational Management/Competence Profiles

Within the administration of the institution, the organisational structure can be created with jobs and positions.

The qualifications stored in the skills catalogues/competence profiles can be assigned to the individual jobs and employees.

This makes it possible to analyse the qualification gaps between jobs and employees and thus to identify development potential.

Applicant Management / Recruitment

Applicant management supports you within the entire recruitment process, from demand planning, to job posting, to hiring the employee. The administration of incoming applications is automated via CV parsing. This means that the data record of the applicant or the application, including all supplied documents, is created in Dynamics 365. The Search&Match function allows a semantic search within the own applicant database and social media portals such as XING or LinkedIn. For CV parsing, the additional software Textkernel is used, which is fully integrated into Dynamics 365.


Employee Data / Electronic Personnel File

The employee administration contains all necessary information on the employee and thus serves as the basis for all employee-related activities. The integrated electronic personnel file allows the creation and structured filing of all relevant documents. The HRM add-on from Softsite is required to map the electronic personnel file.
