From stand-alone systems to the Dynamics 365 platform

WEY Group has successfully implemented the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, replacing three stand-alone systems with the Dynamics 365 platform - clear added value here: greater efficiency in collaboration, scalability of processes and more transparent management metrics.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an integrated business software that includes both ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Engagement)  in Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance - including marketing and service functionalities (Customer and Field Service). Combining ERP and CE in Dynamics allows WEY Group to map its business processes end-to-end. By integrating and linking their financial and customer data, they can thereby continuously optimize their processes.

The implementation of the Dynamics 365 platform provides improved process efficiencies, better internal business process analysis capabilities, and higher customer service satisfaction. The implementation is a milestone and will enable WEY Group to successively expand its IT landscape on the platform in the future and reap the benefits of continuous development.

Key aspects of project implementation and results

  • When WEY Group AG switched to Dynamics 365, it split its organization into two business units: a production company and a sales company. This enables them to better map and optimize their respective business processes.
  • The Dynamics 365 scalable system offers the opportunity to expand the WEY Group's business internationally.
  • Projects can now be more effectively managed as a result of the introduction of Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance. In the project managing area, they can now rely, among other things, on the introduction of a project-related DB view, attendance and project time recording, as well as on the import of projects from an existing calculation basis.
  • The manufacturing process was streamlined with the aid of Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance. This included, for instance, the replacement of WEYParts (product database) and resource planning. Thanks to the clean pre- and post-calculation based on bills of materials and routings, it is now easier to work more efficiently.
  • The integration of Dynamics 365 Customer and Dynamics 365 Field Service allows a seamless handling of installation and service activities. In terms of service, it also offers the option of reporting expenses straight back to the respective project.
  • The interface between the ERP and the current CAD system guarantees the efficient exchange of data and ensures a smooth collaboration.
  • In the future, work hours will be collected from internal terminals all the way to the Dynamics 365 Field Service App, offering comprehensive options for logging and controlling work hours.

Use of DocuWare for accounts payable auditing and audit-proof document archiving

A vendor workflow based on DocuWare is introduced for processing the accounts payable audit. Simultaneously, Docuware is used for the audit-compliant document archiving of Dynamics 365 documents. DocuWare has been successfully implemented on behalf of the Ambit Group with our partner Ricoh.
