Change in payment conditions for Microsoft Seat-Based licences

Microsoft adjusts payment terms and prices as of 1 April 2025. At the same time, there will be promotions and great opportunities for extended use of existing licences.

Conditions for the terms remain unchanged

For all new or renewed licences from the cut-off date, the terms of 1 / 12 and in some cases 36 (predominantly Dynamics 365) months for the respective subscriptions granted around 3 years ago with the introduction of NCE (New Commerce Engagement) continue to apply.

The conditions are also still fixed for this selected term.

 

Conditions for payment methods are changing

Es gibt neu eine Veränderung bei den Zahlungskonditionen für die 12 und 36 Monate laufenden Subscriptions. - For "annual licences with monthly billing", processing fees of five percent will be charged.

This adjustment is intended to standardise the rental/licence conditions.

  • If the customer chooses upfront billing for the entire term, there will be no surcharge or price increase.
  • In the case of a 36-month term, upfront is due for 12 months at the renewal date.

This affects seat-based licences / rental licences that are licensed for a single user, such as for Office 365, Microsoft 365, PowerBI, Power Apps, Power Automate and Dynamics 365.
 

 

Promotion for new Microsoft 365 E5 licences

Many companies are switching to the Microsoft 365 E5 licence. With the Power BI licence already integrated, options for using the Power Platform, the extended security functions and the solutions for Teams telephony, this licence offers the best price-performance ratio.

  • Microsoft is offering a 15% discount on Microsoft 365 E5 from 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2025 for customers who purchase an M365 E5 annual subscription for the first time through the CSP programme. The promotion is only available to new customers (with no previous M365 E5 purchase history) and only through the New Commerce platform.
     
  • At the end of the term, the subscription automatically renews at the standard price. It can be billed either as a one-off payment or monthly with an annual commitment.

Copilot und Microsoft 365

With the introduction of the AI assistant Copilot for Microsoft 365, Microsoft has revolutionised the natively integrated use of AI.

  • When it was launched, only 12-month licences with prepayment were available for the first few months.
  • In autumn last year, Microsoft announced and made monthly licensing available. This can be licensed with a 5% surcharge:

Power BI is the world's leading BI platform. Its functionalities have been comprehensively enhanced in recent years. With the development of Microsoft Fabric, Power BI will take on a central role in the visualisation of data and distribute it across various channels.
Anyone who currently uses or would like to use Power BI licences and is therefore affected by the price increase should consider switching to a Microsoft 365 E5 Suite.
