BBS Automation has successfully implemented Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and Finance (SCM-Finance) in the U.S.

At the beginning of October, BBS USA successfully went live with Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance.

Together, AX 2009, which had been successfully operated for many years, was replaced by Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance. At the same time, BBS decided to move operations to the Azure Cloud with Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance.

Worldwide interdisciplinary cooperation

Project Team North America

A standardised Ambit Group project team is working on the implementation of the project worldwide. The BBS site in the USA is now the first company to go live with exciting project content:

  • Introduction of the ERP system on Microsoft Dynamics 365 SCM-Finance
  • The centrepiece is a comprehensive parts list functionality for special plant construction, which allows growing parts lists and has fully integrated the logistics process.
  • Progress is tracked via the extended standard budget functionality (controlling).
  • Production via standard shop floor incl. production data acquisition (PDA) from Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance
  • Project module for recording services via standard Dynamics 365 Mobile App
  • Comprehensive analyses via Power BI
  • Paylocity (wages) connected to Dynamics 365 via interface
  • Migration of master data from Dynamics AX 2009 to Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance
  • The BBS USA project created the template for the further global roll-out. Microsoft DevOps is used for project collaboration.
  • Integration of company-specific purchasing policy via Power Automate

With the introduction of CAD-Link (https://www.qbuildsoftware.com), an important step in the integration of ERP and the technical world was achieved.

CAD-Link enables the synchronisation of article master data and parts lists (including versions) between the CAD systems Solidworks CAD, Solid Edge, AutoCAD and EPLAN and Dynamics 365 SCM - Finance.Thanks to a respectful, partnership-based cooperation at eye level at all times, we are proud to have now successfully achieved the first go-live together with the first company.

The companies in China are already being implemented. The introduction of the companies in Europe and Malaysia is anchored in the roadmap.
