Since 1990, Der Grüne Punkt has established and organized the world's first dual system for the efficient recycling of sales packaging. Today, it is a leading provider of take-back systems.
Companies that put packaging into circulation pay license fees, while Der Grüne Punkt ensures that it is collected, sorted and recycled after use.
By constantly optimizing its processes, the company is helping to keep more and more recyclable materials in closed cycles, conserve environmental resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
With the amendment to the Packaging Act 2022, companies that import products to Germany or use their packaging for service purposes must now also license it and thus ensure the financing of the circular economy. Electronic marketplaces and fulfillment service providers will be legally obliged to verify proper registration and system participation.
Due to this legal development, Der Grüne Punkt has multiplied its potential customer base from around 50,000 registered companies at the beginning of 2019 to more than 1.2 million registered companies today within just a few years. This growth placed new demands on internal processes, as existing systems had to be customized. Increased digitalization was necessary to efficiently manage the increased requirements.
The main objective was to minimize administrative expenses and free up resources for strategic tasks such as new business areas and cross-/upselling to major customers.
An important component of this was the automation and acceleration of the existing quotation process with the help of Dynamics functions.
Successful implementation of a central CRM platform
With the global introduction of a Microsoft-based CRM platform, DGP has standardized and automated marketing, sales and service processes. This also allows peak loads to be managed efficiently in the event of contract changes.
Automated document creation, price adjustment simulations and improved support management significantly increase efficiency.
At Der Grüne Punkt, CRM is the central database for all customer interactions and enables a 360-degree view of its customers and their needs. This offers the company a wide range of opportunities to use this data profitably.
